Due to COVID restrictions and other health and safety policies in place at the pool, we will NOT be hosting our usual neighborhood-wide pool event.
Because we must limit our capacity to 61 people total, we will also be limiting July 3rd, 4th, and 5th to MEMBERS ONLY. NO guests or non-members will be permitted. Members can only bring their family members that reside with them and are listed on their membership.
We have created a reservation system so that you may attend the pool in 2-hour time slots. You may reserve 2 time slots (on different days) during the 3-day weekend. Each member household will be limited to 2 time slots for the three-day weekend. Members may come at different times, but each member may only come twice, and not on the same day. You will not be able to enter the pool without a reservation. At the end of your reservation time, please leave the pool promptly so other members may enter. We have a 15-minute transition window so the pool doesn’t become overcrowded on the hour. The following reservation times will be available:
- 9:00 – 10:45 am
- 11:00 – 12:45 pm
- 1:00 – 2:45 pm
- 3:00 – 4:45 pm
- 5:00 – 6:45 pm
- 7:00 – 8:45 pm
We will have lifeguards on duty from 10am-9pm.
Reservations will be accepted beginning at 9am on June 28th. This is so that everyone can plan ahead for their family’s desired time slot. The link will be for reservations will be sent via email.
Please reserve your time slots by Thursday, July 2. At this time the board will evaluate capacity and notify membership if additional time slots will be allowed.
We are excited to announce the pool will open Saturday, May 23! The WSRC Board, which consists of member volunteers, has worked extremely hard to provide you with beautiful and safe facilities to enjoy. This year has been particularly challenging with the projects we had in progress and the impact of COVID-19. The Board has devoted significant personal time around jobs and families to bring you a new deck space where the old pavilion had been, a new larger covered area near the baby pool, two resurfaced tennis courts, as well as implementing the many operating requirements due to COVID-19.
Please be aware that the pool gate entry system will be changed soon. If you had pool access last year with a fingerprint or fob, you can enter the pool gate as usual for now. If you did not have access last year (no fingerprint on file or new member) or lost your fob, you will need to ask someone to open the gate for you temporarily. Once the new system is activated, all paid members will receive key cards that will replace fingerprints and fobs. Two key cards will be issued to each family.
Please read the additional rules for this summer in response to COVID-19
Under the current Executive Order signed by Governor Kemp this week, community pools are now allowed to open, as long as they comply with CDC, state, and local requirements.
The Board is working to open our pool as soon as possible, but we still have several requirements that need to be met.
First, we need to pass the annual pool inspection by the county. We have requested the inspection and are waiting for confirmation from the county on when it will occur. Due to the impact of COVID-19 on county government functions, there could be a delay or a backlog of requests. It may be a few weeks depending on the county’s schedule and availability. We continue to follow up regularly on the expected date.
Second, we’re working to implement CDC and state requirements regarding COVID-19 to open safely, some of which were just issued yesterday, including:
- Obtaining and installing required signage about COVID-19
- Obtaining hand sanitizer and additional cleaning supplies
- Implementing additional cleaning procedures for common surfaces
- Determining social distancing requirements and additional attendance and use guidelines
The opening date, social distancing requirements, and attendance and use guidelines will be communicated as soon as we are ready to officially open. Please be patient while we determine the specific requirements that need to be implemented for our pool and membership.
In preparation for opening:
- Please pay your dues if you haven’t already done so. The due date is today, May 15.
- Do not try to enter the pool until an announcement has been made that the pool is officially open. Even though the cover has been removed and the water has been treated, the pool cannot be used yet. Additionally, you may see people at the pool during this time working in preparation of opening. This also does not mean the pool is open yet.
- If you have questions, please feel free to contact any Board member or email email@example.com.
Please review the calendar for 2020 season including guarded hours and event closures. If there is no life guard present it is Swim at Your Own Risk for members and guests 14 yrs and older.
On March 18th we will have our next Membership meeting at 7pm. Join us at the fire pit to discuss the plans for the pavilion, approve the 2020 budget, and vote in our new board members.
In case of rain we will meet in the tennis hut. See you there!
