COVID-19 Pool Rules

While we are excited to create as much normalcy as possible for the summer, it is important that we do our part in keeping members and staff safe while at the pool. Please read and respect the guidelines and policies that have been put in place for everyone’s safety. In addition to the standard WSRC pool policies, rules and regulations (, the following are new and amended requirements this year due to COVID-19. If members do not follow this guidance, the pool could be closed by the state or county.

  • If you or a member of your group have any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone with symptoms, do not come to the pool.
  • Due to the need for social distancing, the pool attendance capacity has been set at 61 people. The limited capacity may not allow for all members to use the pool at once. Be respectful of your time at the pool so everyone can have an opportunity to enjoy it.
  • Members must respect social distancing rules of standing 6 ft. apart and not congregate in groups.
    • Groups larger than 10 are not allowed, unless they keep 6 ft. apart.
    • Multiple groups of up to 10 people can be in the pool area at one time, so long as people who are not living together stay 6 ft. apart.
    • Physical distancing applies both in and out of the water.
  • Scheduled parties, special events, and group classes are not allowed at the pool this year.
  • Overall pool chair count has been reduced, and we’ve appropriately spaced them out to meet current guidelines. We ask that you do not move the furniture on the pool patio and respect the social distancing seat spacing.
  • The bathrooms will be available and cleaned regularly.
    • All members should wash their hands after using the facilities.
    • Children must use the bathrooms provided. This is a mandatory County Health Rule and no exceptions will be tolerated. Children under the age of 5 must be escorted to the bathroom by a parent to avoid plumbing issues and to assist them in washing their hands.
  • Please assist in keeping the area clean and free of trash. Clean up and throw away all your trash and other items in designated trash cans. Trash bags or liners must be used for trash. Don’t put trash in the trash can if there isn’t a bag or liner in it.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available for members to use. Sanitizing products are in short supply everywhere. While we will attempt to provide them for member use, we cannot guarantee they will always be available on site. Members are encouraged to bring their own supplies and sanitize the chairs and tables they want to use before sitting.
  • The pool utility room is for lifeguard, pool company, and WSRC Board use only. The door will remain locked unless in use by one of these groups.
  • Do not use the refrigerator in the pool utility room. Bring your own cooler for food and drinks.
  • If you bring pool equipment or toys (fins, goggles, floats, noodles, etc.), you should not share them with people you do not live with, and do not leave them at the pool.
  • If you choose to wear a mask or face covering to the pool, do not wear it in the water. Cloth face coverings can be difficult to breathe through when they are wet.
  • Members may bring guests to the facilities under the following conditions:
    • The guest fee is $2 per visit per guest with a $5 maximum per family. Seniors and children 2 years old and under are free. Please pay the guest fee by cash or check made out to “WSRC” and deposit payment in the locked box in the breezeway.
    • Guests are defined as non-family members or as extended family members who do not reside at the WSRC member’s address.
    • The WSRC member must remain at the pool with their guest(s). Members may not enter with a guest and then leave.
    • Children of adult WSRC members may bring up to two guests per day. Any one individual may be considered a guest no more than five occasions per pool season.
    • WSRC members will be held responsible for the conduct of their guests.
    • Weatherstone residents who are not WSRC members may not use the pool or tennis courts.
    • During guarded hours members may send their children to the pool with babysitters who are at least 13 years of age. The babysitter may only be admitted when accompanying the member’s children – not any other times.
    • Having more than 10 guests constitutes a special event and is not allowed.
    • Inform any guests of these rules, as they are required to follow them.
    • Members may need to limit the number of guests they bring to the pool this year due to the social distancing requirements and the attendance capacity limit.

If you or a member from your group choose to disregard any of these policies, you will be warned and asked to leave the pool premises. If issues continue, your membership will be recommended for suspension.

The pool and lifeguard schedule is being updated now and will be available shortly. They planned start of lifeguards has been affected by COVID-19 related delays. Remember, when guards are not present, you are swimming at your own risk. WSRC members age 16 years and older are permitted to use the pool unaccompanied by an adult when a lifeguard guard is not present. When guard(s) are present, members age 9 years and older may use the pool unaccompanied by an adult.
